Privacy Policy

Fence Works ("we", "us") provides software for fence contractors to estimate jobs, send quotes, take payments, collect reviews, automate customer follow-up, and host their business website. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, how we handle data from the services you connect, and how we handle information from visitors to the websites we host for contractors.

Information we collect

Account details you provide (name, company, email, password).
Business data you create in the app (customers, estimates, quotes, work orders, photos).
Usage and device information to operate and improve the service.

How we use it

To deliver the product, process payments through our payment provider, send the messages your automations trigger, provide support, and keep the service secure. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Data from connected services (QuickBooks, Stripe, Google)

When you connect a third-party service, we access only the data needed to power the feature you turned on:

Intuit QuickBooks Online. If you connect QuickBooks, we use the Intuit QuickBooks Online API only to create and sync the customers, invoices, and payments for jobs you choose to send. We do not read, modify, or store any other QuickBooks data, we never sell or share it, and we do not use it for advertising or any purpose other than providing this sync to you.
Google Calendar. We create, update and remove the calendar events for jobs you schedule in Fence Works, and read those same events back so a job you move in Google Calendar moves in Fence Works too. We work only with events Fence Works created; we don't read your other events or change your calendar settings or sharing.
Google Sheets. We add one row per new lead to the spreadsheet you choose (or one we create for you), and read its first row only to add column headers. We don't open other files.
Gmail. If you connect Gmail, we send the emails you write or approve in Fence Works (quotes, follow-ups, reminders) from your address. We use Gmail only to send: we can't read, search or delete your mail.
Google Business Profile. We read your profile details, reviews, posts, photos and performance statistics (calls, website clicks, direction requests, search terms) to score your profile, show your reviews in Fence Works and on your website, and draft replies and posts for you. We change your profile only when you press the button for that specific item: posting a review reply, publishing a "What's new" update, or applying a profile edit you reviewed (description, website link, or services list). Every edit is logged with the previous value so you can undo it. We never delete content on your Business Profile.
Stripe. Processes deposits and balances; we never receive or store full card or bank credentials.

Access tokens for connected services are stored encrypted on our servers, never in the browser. When you disconnect an integration, we stop accessing that service and remove its stored tokens.

Google user data

Fence Works' use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In practice:

We use Google user data only to provide the features described above, which you turn on and can see in Fence Works.
We don't sell it, use it for advertising, or transfer it to anyone except as needed to provide those features, for security, to comply with the law, or as part of a merger or acquisition (with notice to you).
When you ask Fence Works to draft a review reply or a Business Profile post, the text involved is sent to our AI provider only to write that draft. We do not use Google user data to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine-learning models, and our AI provider does not use it for training.
No one at Fence Works reads your Google data unless you ask us to (for example, for support), it's needed for security, or the law requires it.
You can revoke access at any time in Fence Works → Integrations or at myaccount.google.com/permissions. When you disconnect a Google service, we delete the tokens we stored for it, and once no other Google service is connected we also revoke Fence Works' access at Google. Deleting your Fence Works account does both for every connected service and deletes the copies we keep for a feature (such as your reviews).

Reviews

Fence Works stores the reviews you collect: reviews from your Google Business Profile, reviews you add by hand, and the ratings and notes your customers leave on your private feedback page. Public reviews may appear on your Fence Works-hosted website and reviews page, shown with the reviewer's first name and last initial. Ratings and notes left on the private feedback page are visible only to your team and are never published.

Websites we host for contractors

On plans that include a website, Fence Works builds and hosts a website for the contractor, on a Fence Works address or on a domain the contractor owns and connects. For these sites the contractor is the business the visitor is dealing with, and Fence Works acts as its service provider:

Form submissions (quote requests, contact messages, referrals: name, phone, email, address and project details) are delivered to that contractor's Fence Works account, so the contractor can respond. We use them only to provide the service to that contractor.
Text messages are sent to a visitor only if they tick the text-message opt-in on the form; the SMS terms below apply.
Technical data. Our hosting and content-delivery providers process IP addresses and browser information to serve pages, prevent abuse and keep the site secure. These logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.
Analytics. A contractor may add their own Google Tag Manager or Analytics to their site; that data is governed by the contractor's settings and Google's policies.
Domains. A contractor's domain stays theirs. We ask them to add only the DNS records that point the website to us, and we never change their email records.

Visitors with questions about a contractor's site can contact that contractor using the details on the site, or write to us at the address below.

Sharing

We share data only with the processors that run the service (hosting and content delivery, payment, email/SMS, calendar, and accounting providers you connect) and only as needed to deliver the features you enable. We do not sell personal information.

SMS / text messaging

Customers who call a business using Fence Works, or who submit its estimate request form or website form and opt in to text messages, may receive text messages from that business — appointment confirmations, estimate follow-ups, missed-call replies, and review requests.

No mobile sharing: mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent are never shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Message frequency varies based on your interaction with the business (typically a few messages per estimate or job).

Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help.

Data retention & your choices

You can access, export, or delete your data, and disconnect any integration, from your account at any time. We retain workspace data while your account is active and delete it on request or after account closure, except where we must retain records to meet legal or accounting obligations. If you close an account that includes a hosted website, you can download a copy of your site's pages and images before it is taken down.
